In May of 2010, J.D. Young became the full-time
Youth Director here at Bethel United Methodist Church. J.D. grew up in Milford, Ohio and graduated from Milford High
School in 2003. He went on to study Communication at The University of Toledo and graduated in 2007. After a brief
time with a Cincinnati non-profit organization, J.D. felt God calling him to ministry.
J.D. severed as a Youth Intern
during the Summer of 2008 with Faith Church in Milford, the church J.D. grew up attending with his family. In 2009 J.D.
served as Youth Director at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. During this time J.D. developed a ministry partner
with Bethel United Methodist Church, and had both youth groups serving Christ together.
In 2010, J.D. came to Bethel United
Methodist Church and blended in perfectly, having already established a connection with the youth, young adults and parents.
J.D.'s number one desire is for today's youth to understand who Christ is before they graduate. It is vital
for the youth of today to know "who they are and whose they are" in Christ Jesus.
J.D. enjoys music, sports, and
grilling out just to name a few. He is currently working on his Masters of Arts in Christian Studies through Trinity
Evangelical Divinity School. He and his wife Lisa were married in July of 2011.
